Hi everyone
Tuesday, September 16, 2008
Welcome September
Finally September is here. The kids are back to school as I wished. Now at a point in their academic careers where I can no longer help with the homework, since I have no idea what kind of math they are doing, and I don't speak french.
My parents are safely back from the swamp you all call The Sunshine State. and I am trying desperately to save for my winter oil bills.
Ryan got his drivers license this month, so if you were thinking of driving in the State of Connecticut don't.
The kids went to a wedding with their dad and Ryan got his first suit, Paige got to be bell of the ball.
What has everyone else been up to?

How Is Everyone?
I happened to check this blog and there have been no updates. I assume, like everyone else, you are busy with school/kids/PTA/life, as I am. Things are peachy (and cold!) in Michigan -- my daughter turned 10, our son is turning 4 in October, and we have a big BD planned with a petting zoo and pony rides (couldn't get the rocket ship to the Moon--maybe next year).
Here is a picture of Cooper and me and a recent BD party at Marvelous Marvin's Mechanical Museum in Farmington Hills, MI. As you can see, we have both gotten very tall. If you're ever there, you should stop by.
Good luck to everyone out there.

Ang is doing good
Hey everybody just wanted to let you know that my dad is doing well after his angoplas (not sure of spelling) any way they put in three stints. He may also need a defibulater in the next 6 months to a year. I guess the hospitals air went out sometime last night, so he's probably tired, hot and cranky today.

Profile of Yourself
Since there's so many relatives and so little time, how about a quick profile of yourself? I will start:

1) Who are you? Brad, son of Ruth and Dick, brother of Marge
2) What do you do for a living? I am one of the last remaining members of Ford Motor company in Dearborn, Michigan. I am a Computer Programmer/Webmaster for Ford Warranty. Please, if you get a chance, buy a Ford. :)
3) What does your spouse do? She's an advanced placement Science Teacher in Dearborn, and way smarter than me. She is half-Arabic, so if you make any Arab jokes you risk a smackdown from me. :)
4) What are your hobbies? When I'm not being a Dad and a Husband, I like to work in the community (I just got done being PTA President for two years), I like to cook, see foreign movies with subtitles where everybody dies, read books, go jogging, and do home improvements (my wife and I remodeled our kitchen ourselves, with a little help from my neighbor and Ikea)
5) Turn-offs: Negative people, people who litter, reality TV
6) Turn-Ons: My wife, Making dinner for our friends, recycling, doing fun things with our kids
7) Favorite alcoholic beverage: The Paloma - fill a glass with ice, squeeze in one half fresh lime, add 1.5 shots of teqila, top with Squirt (or lemon-lime soda for those of you not in the Midwest), enjoy
See? That wasn't so hard!
My Mom asked me to put a pic here of our son Cooper, who supposedly looks like someone. I hope he looks like me, as I liked to think I was involved in some part of the process.

Well, Howdy Ya'll
I'm gladI wasn't the last one here. I am Rick, son of Doris and Angelo, brother of Donna, uncle of Shelby, Garrett and Morgan, Father of Nicholas and in one weird way or another related to all the other posters on this blog......

Sorry it took me so long to get here, but my darling mother just sent me the link today, I guess that was how she paid me back for me not creating this like Brad did since she asked me a couple months ago.
I'm sitting here in my Chicago hotel room checking in on the family and seeing whats new with everyone.
Anyway, here are a few pictures, my son (yeah, he needs a haircut, go figure!), my cat, and my car....
Not Alone Anymore

Wow...What a shock to check this blog and see that everyone has pretty much managed to post something.....Still working hard here in CT. Glad to hear about Shelby and Garrett taking their driving test. My son wasn't quite so lucky to get his license on the first shot, hopefully it will mean more to him having to wait and take another test.
I am going over to help my mom with uploading pictures tonight and if we have any tips we will share them.

Dog nap it, I am going to learn how to master this masters piece yet
Hi everybody, I am totally frustrated, I don't consider myself a stupid person, one who just keeps repeating herself, one who just keeps repeating herself. But for the life of me, earlier I created a post, clicked above on the picture and it allowed me to download a couple of pictures, then I lost them, now it won't work when I tried to download pictures to this post. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, please post it so I know too........
Glad to see everyone who is joining
Hi, I didn't think my previous post worked, but I actually saw it here. I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet, but I will. Thanks Brad for setting this up. Well, I just got off work and I have that long trip home yet (about 6 steps to the living room) so I guess I had better sign off and go feed the dogs. Ang is on the road tonight, but should be home before morning. See you all later......Doobie
Just checkin in.....
Hey everybody! As soon as my dad gets his internet straight, I will set him up so he can understand how all this works...hahaha. So stay tuned for his slow arrival! Daniel, the boys and I are good. I'm kinda with Marge on the whole....WHEN IS SCHOOL STARTING!? I love my babies but this will be Zaks first year in all day school and I can't wait to have my life back! Well at least 8 hrs a day. :)
Lets see....I have two weeks of Physical Therapy left. WOO HOO for that! My family is going to White Lake at the end of this week so thats another thing for me to be excited about. My biggest whine at the moment is my X is dragging his feet about filing for divorce because he says he can't afford it. He even went as far as demanding I drop Alimony so he can pay for the divorce. I'm trying to act like I don't care but of course I do....he left us.....he should have to pay it. RIGHT?
OK well thats about it here. My pictures never showed up. Brad you got any suggestions? I know how to post pics normally...any tricks to this one? I will try again and hopefully it will come up a pic of my two boys (Zak the 5 yr old is the blonde and Hunter the 7 yr old has the dark hair). A pic of Haley (Pauls daughter) and I, and the last pic should be of Daniel and I. MAYBE they will post this time! It says images uploader to 'blogger'....is that not here? LOL Cause I sure don't see them!
Anyway.....
Hope everyone has a great week! Anne Masters

Hello People I Am Related To
This is Brad, son of Ruth, checking in on the blog. Glad to see you are all posting. It's nice to hear how everyone is doing.
I noticed a few things which I have tried to help with--I hope you don't mind. Please be aware of the following things:
1) If you make a post, make sure to click on "Publish Post", otherwise it stays a "draft" and no one sees it.
2) Remember to break your post into paragraphs so all the old people don't get eyestrain.
3) If you want to make an actual post, make sure you are making a Post and not a comment to a post.
4) Make sure to send me $20 anytime you post. :)
Hope this helps. Here is a recent pic of me and my soon to be 10-year old daughter Madeline Siham Parks at the Swedish Hill Wineries in the New York Finger Lakes Wine Region. I would have included my wife and soon-to-be-4 year old son, but they were off drinking wine somewhere.

Please e-mail me if you havea ny questions or problems, or just to tell me how good I look.

Slow Blogging
So......My brother set this blog up so we can read all about the Masters Girls and Guy and what they do in their daily lives. Why do you suppose none of them have entered anything on the blog yet?
I see that Anne and I are willing to share our lives....Where are the rest of you?
So far I have had a heck of a week, grounding teenagers and taking away cell phones while being a single mom and working all day is getting old. When does school start again so someone else can take responsibility of these kids for few hours as day?

Ed Masters Daughter, Anne. ;)
Hi everybody! Its me...Anne. We live here in Nashville, NC close to my parents Ed and Julia Masters. I have two little boys: Hunter-7 and Zak-5 that are the light of my life. I am in school trying to get into the Radiology program. I used to run my own horse buisness (for about 12 years) but had a terrible accident last spring that put me in a wheelchair for about a year. So I figured it was about time to start a new proffession. :) I've just got back to walking without crutches this May...although I still have Physical Therapy 3 times a week because there is so much other stuff I can't do yet.
I have an amazing fiance' that found out about my situation last July and contacted me right away. Daniel and I were e/o's first love and dated off and on all 4 yrs of highschool, not to mention his parents live about 300 yards from mine. To make a long story short he moved up here last December to be closer to me and the boys through my next surgery. Well needless to say how can you NOT marry such a wonderful human being? We will be getting married sometime this fall.
The boys will be waking up soon so I am going to get off here. I tried to send 2 diff pics but I dont know if they will go through. I love to hear from all my dads sisters whom I feel very close to despite the mileage, but its really nice to hear about my cousins that I know very little about. If anybody wants to read up on my blogs from last year you can at www.MYSPACE.com/annemasters. I'll be in touch! Anne Masters. ;)

Welcome everyone, please post information and pictures frequently
Hi everyone, this is the baby sister Doris. I am hoping that all the families will catch on to this and add information about their lives to share. It is Friday, July 11, 2008. Ang is going down to Deltona tonight to pick up Garrett (Donna's son) and bring him up for the weekend, so we can take him out driving in the PT Cruiser. Garrett and Shelby (Donna's daughter) are taking drivers ed classes this summer and they both need to put in 3 hours driving practice this weekend, so we offered to take Garrett driving and Donna will take Shelby. Shelby has her senior class picture setting today, so that is why she is staying there. I am so very proud of how well the kids are doing in drivers ed.

First Post for Masters-Piece
Hi. I am Brad Parks, son of Ruth Masters and Richard Parks. My Aunt Doris asked me to create this blog for anyone from the Masters to clan who would like to make a post about what they are doing in their fair-flung corner of the world. My wife and kids and I are currently here in Windsor, CT visiting my parents for vacation. Starting Tuesday we'll be traveling to old Orchard Beach in Maine to see my sister, who is vacationing up there for the week. It is warm and humid here in Windsor, especially since my parents have yet to learn about the thing called "air conditioning." Good luck to everyone writing on this blog--if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at brad@fastandbad.com. Enjoy!
